According to an article published on April 1st, United Airlines will soon hire 300 new pilots to match the increase in travel demand. But that's only where it begins. That number could drastically rise, and fast, depending on how many people feel comfortable enough to fly again.
Currently, United Airlines has about 12,000 pilots, and the new jobs will initially be offered to applicants who the company intended to hire just before the start of the pandemic. Last month, congress approved a six-month extension that grants hefty financial aid to the airlines' payroll.
Will the leisure travel industry will soon get back to normal?
